Why is Prostate Cancer Screening Important?

Prostate cancer often shows no symptoms in its early stages. In fact, only 4% of men discover they have prostate cancer through screening tests, while just 5% find out because of urinary or erectile symptoms. This makes regular screening crucial, as it helps detect prostate cancer early when it’s most treatable.

Screening tests may include:

  • PSA test (Prostate-Specific Antigen)
  • DRE (Digital Rectal Exam)
  • Biopsy and other imaging tests

If prostate cancer is detected, it will be graded and staged to assess how aggressive it is and how far it has spread.
