Who We Are
This is Brotherhood
At The Walnut Foundation, we are dedicated to advancing men’s health and wellness within the Black community, with a focus on prostate health. Our mission is to foster awareness, advocate for equitable access to healthcare, and support the next generation of Black medical professionals.
Meeting Hub
Prostate Cancer Support Group
We host monthly Prostate cancer support sessions for men who are newly diagnosed or in treatment or in post treatment.
Mobile PSA Testing
Pop-up mobile tests make prostate cancer screening more accessible and convenient bringing essential services directly to the community.
Be a Man of Action
Community Connections
We believe in the power of open dialogue to promote awareness, education, and support for Black men’s health. We creates spaces where men can connect, share experiences, and empower each other to take control of their well-being.
Supporting Future Black Medical Professionals
We believe in investing in supporting the education of future Black doctors. That’s why we have established an endowment to provide scholarships to Black medical students attending the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine. We plan to add endowments at select medical schools in our target communities.
Fighting for Health Equity
Through our partnerships with community health centres, researchers, and the government, we focus on better health outcomes for black men by improving access to testing and knowledge mobilization.

Why We Do It
The Walnut Foundation was founded in 2007 bt Dr. Issac, driven by a deeply personal journey through prostate cancer. After his disgnosis and subsequent treatment, Dr. Isaac recognized a critical need for heightened awareness and education within the Black community regarding prostate health.
