Early Detection Saves Lives
About the Clinics
In partnership with Dr. Neil Fleshner and the GU Clinic of the Department of Surgical Oncology at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, TAIBU Community Health Centre, and Black Creek Community Health Centre, The Walnut Foundation offers free PSA blood tests to Black men aged 40 and above in the Greater Toronto Area.
These pop-up clinics go beyond PSA testing, providing:
- Blood sugar and blood pressure screenings.
- Resources on prostate cancer risks and prevention.
- Free haircuts and meals.
Our clinics aim to:
- Raise awareness about prostate cancer in Black communities.
- Promote early detection to improve health outcomes.
- Foster a sense of community and support.
In this video, Dr. Neil Fleshner addresses common concerns about prostate cancer with Andre, who has a strong family history of the disease. Learn about the risks, the importance of PSA testing, and how genetic factors play a crucial role.
